First things first: thank you for another year of listening.
As an independent record label, we are thankful for every person that takes the time to listen to our music. Whether you streamed one of our many releases, purchased a vinyl record, tape or CD, or came out to see one of our artists perform live, we appreciate your support.
2018 was a busy year for the label, and easily our most ambitious and rewarding yet. In the past 12 months we’ve released 5 full length albums, 2 beats tapes, 4 EPs, and 4 official singles. We also put out 4 albums on vinyl, as well as a limited edition cassette run. Overall the label took some great steps forward, exploring new genres and refining our release process. We aim to carry this momentum into 2019 and continue to deliver exciting new music in both digital and physical formats.
Thanks again, now here’s a recap of some of this years highlights.

Introducing Minutes Unlimited
2018 saw the introduction of Minutes Unlimited, a new group consisting of producers Eliot Lipp and Michna. In the past 12 months they’ve released 3 EPs. First was Making Contact, followed by Simple Solutions, then finally Firewall Breach. Somewhere in there they find the time to release an exclusive sample pack with Splice. In 2019 they plan to continue their prolific release schedule as well as premiere their live quadraphonic set.
The Visuals of Minutes Unlimited
From the onset, Minutes Unlimited showcased a distinct visual look. This was helped realized by graphic designer Mode93, whose 3D modeling brought to life a clean, retro-futuristic aesthetic that complemented the group’s sound.
The photographs of Minutes Unlimited were taken by photographer Rebeca Diaz. These photos capture the duo in Brooklyn, NY, highlighting the atmosphere in which they create their music.

The album releases everywhere digitally on March 1st, 2019.
Fyvr Delivers Back-to-Back Beat Tapes
Portland, Maine producer Fyvr returned to YHS with a series of beat tapes. After releasing his 2017 album Almost Happy through the label, Fyvr released two new projects entitled Forget and 5554ever in the Summer of 2018.
Forget was announced with a music video for the title track. Drenched in saturation and juxtaposed with colorful projected visuals, the video gives a peak into Fyvr’s creative process. Samplers and rim shots dance over an airy vocal sample, with the occasional obscured look at Fyvr himself.
Palm Haze’s Tangy Dream on Limited Edition Cassettes
Heavy with reverb and distortion, Canadian band Palm Haze’s Tangy Dream is a beautiful shoegaze album produced with the sensibility of a trip-hop LP. This past summer, the group collaborated with YHS to release the album on cassette. The tapes are available in pink, light grey and white.
This Year in Merchandise
This past year saw the release of first run pressings, re-issues, two-disc CD sets, cassettes, and apparel. Some highlights include a color pressing of Blockhead’s Uncle Tony’s Coloring Book, a pressing of Mux Mool’s 2017 album Implied Lines on vinyl, and the black-on-black YHS crew neck sweater.
